The Bedford TK Simon Snorkel fire engine was a technological innovation in firefighting in the 1960s. British company Simon Engineering developed the "Snorkel" hydraulic aerial work platform, allowing firefighters to work at height faster, safer, and more flexibly than with a traditional ladder. The collaboration with Bedford gave the Snorkel a reliable TK truck chassis, making it a worldwide success and putting it into service in numerous fire departments.

Corgi Toys released this impressive model in 1964 as part of the Major Toys series, number 1127. It was one of the most advanced models in the range and was praised for its realistic play features: the extendable and rotating aerial work platform, the movable work cage, and the detailed model of the fire engine. The model perfectly matched Corgi's reputation in the 1960s for creating vehicles that could do more than just drive, toys with both realism and function.

This example is in excellent condition and comes with its original packaging, significantly increasing its collector's value. Only the original instructions are missing, but the box retains its beautiful presentation and authenticity.

The Corgi Major Toys 1127 "Simon Snorkel" Fire Engine is therefore a magnificent piece of toy and firefighting history: an icon from Corgi's heyday, still beloved by collectors worldwide today.
