The Simca Rancho was a progressive model that launched in 1977. Developed by Matra in collaboration with Simca, the Rancho is often considered one of the first "lifestyle SUVs." Based on the Simca 1100 van, it was given an adventurous look with a raised roofline, robust bumpers, and additional accessories. At the time, the Rancho was presented as a car for leisure, camping, and outdoor activities, a concept that only truly gained popularity years later.

Corgi capitalized on this success and released the Simca Rancho in their Corgi Juniors series, number 76. This compact 1:64 scale model beautifully captured the rugged look of the real Rancho. It featured the recognizable high roofline and robust lines, details that made the car so distinctive at the time. Thanks to its smaller size and sturdy construction, this model was especially popular with children, but today it is a highly sought-after collector's item.

This example is in excellent condition, which is remarkable considering its age and the fact that Juniors were often intensively played with. The preserved paint and details make this model a valuable addition to any Corgi or Simca collection.

A beautiful piece of automotive history in miniature, the Corgi Junior 76 Simca Rancho perfectly captures the pioneering spirit of the late 1970s.
