The Lion Car 36 DAF 2600 with Van Gend & Loos livery is a beautiful example of Dutch craftsmanship in diecast scale models. The model was produced in the 1960s and 1970s by Lion Car, a Dutch manufacturer known for its detailed and sturdy diecast models, particularly of DAF trucks, commercial vehicles, and passenger cars.

The DAF 2600, introduced in 1962, is often considered the first true European "long-distance truck" and was revolutionary in its time. With its modern cab and powerful engine, the vehicle was popular with transport companies both domestically and internationally. The Lion Car model reflects this iconic truck and was released in various versions and liveries.

The version with Van Gend & Loos livery is particularly interesting. Van Gend & Loos was a leading Dutch transport and distribution company with a long history, founded in the 19th century and the face of freight transport in the Netherlands for many years. This model combines both Dutch automotive and transport history, making it particularly valuable for collectors.

This example is the Type 2 version of the Lion Car, recognizable by some minor detail changes compared to the earlier version, and is in excellent condition. Since many of these models were used extensively as toys, undamaged and complete examples are now rare and highly sought after.

For enthusiasts of DAF history, Lion Car diecasts, or classic Dutch transport models, this is a valuable and authentic collector's item that represents a beautiful piece of Dutch history.
