The Land Rover Forward Control was a military version of the classic Land Rover, designed in the 1960s for heavy-duty use by the British Army and its allies, among others. Thanks to its forward-extended cab (forward control), this model offered extra cargo space while remaining compact and maneuverable enough for use in rough terrain. The Forward Control proved its value as a reliable transport vehicle, particularly in military service.
The Husky brand, a model car line produced by Corgi Toys from 1964 onwards as a competitor to Matchbox, released this vehicle as number 21 in their miniature series. The U.S. Army version was given a military olive green paint scheme and featured a removable plastic canopy. Like the real army vehicles, this model exuded robustness and functionality, and it was a popular toy vehicle in the 1960s and 1970s.
This example is in very good condition and still has its original canopy, a detail often missing from toy models. Note: the canopy is missing one lug, but otherwise fits well. This makes it a beautiful and complete collector's item that perfectly reflects the charm of Husky and military vehicle history.
A unique piece of miniature history that will appeal to both Land Rover enthusiasts and Husky collectors.
