This is a beautiful and complete example of the Corgi Toys 1142 – Ford Holmes Wrecker, one of the most iconic and sought-after heavy-duty models from Corgi's golden age. Produced between 1967 and 1974 in Great Britain, this model is now a valuable find for serious collectors of vintage diecast vehicles.

The Ford Holmes Wrecker is based on the robust Ford F-Series truck, equipped with a double winch from Holmes, a well-known American brand specializing in recovery vehicles. These tow trucks were used worldwide by roadside assistance services, towing companies, and in road construction.

When Corgi converted this vehicle into a miniature, no expense was spared on detail or functionality. The No. 1142 was a prestige model in the range and impressed with its scale, weight, working parts, and two figures. The inclusion of a real instruction manual emphasizes the model's functionality: it was intended for play, but also for careful handling.

The model is excellently preserved. The paint is fresh, the winches and hooks are present and functioning properly. The wheels turn smoothly, and the printing is beautifully intact. The original box is included and still recognizable, but is in very poor condition, with clear signs of wear, damage, or discoloration. A rare asset! In addition to the original instructions, the two accompanying figures are also included and in good condition. The instructions explain how the dual winch system works and how to operate the model safely.
