This charming Dinky Toys 500 Citroën 2CV, produced between 1967 and 1971, is a beautiful example of French craftsmanship in miniature form. The 2CV – short for Deux Chevaux – is one of the most iconic and beloved cars in French automotive history, and Dinky captured this classic particularly well in their model.

Originally introduced in 1948, the Citroën 2CV became a symbol of simplicity, functionality and French charm in the decades that followed. It was designed to comfortably carry farmers from the countryside to market, with enough suspension to transport even a basket of eggs unscathed over unpaved roads. Due to its low price, reliability and characteristic appearance, the 2CV quickly gained cult status throughout Europe.

Dinky France released this model as number 500, with an eye for detail and quality. The die-cast metal body has the characteristic rounded shapes, the classic grille, working suspension and an interior that is true to the original design. This version, finished in a typical light grey colour, is known for its sober elegance and realistic proportions.

This particular example is in very good condition, with beautiful paint and neat details. Only on the right front door is a small spot of paint, which hardly detracts from the presentation. The original box is also present and in good condition - a valuable addition for collectors.

A beautiful piece of French model car history, ideal for collectors of Dinky Toys, lovers of French classics, or anyone who appreciates the timeless simplicity of the 2CV.
