In the 1970s, the French manufacturer Majorette released a series of vans and commercial vehicles in 1:60 and 1:64 scales, including the Mercedes-Benz van with various advertising graphics. A special model was the "Trax Publics," which referred to its use for municipal works or road construction contractors, a feature Majorette frequently explored by providing miniatures with recognizable company or fantasy names.

The model was based on the Mercedes-Benz L 406/608 series, a light truck and van frequently used by companies and services in the 1960s and 1970s. The miniature was fitted with a removable plastic canopy, allowing the vehicle to be used as both a flatbed and a covered wagon in play situations.

The Majorette 233 Mercedes-Benz "Trax Publics" is now a sought-after collector's item, partly due to its characteristic 1970s advertising design. This example is in very good condition, with only slight discoloration of the hood, a common phenomenon in older Majorette models. For collectors of classic Majorette and Mercedes models, this is an attractive and authentic piece of toy history.
