A superbly preserved example of the Dinky Toys No. 164 Ford Zodiac, produced by Meccano Ltd. in England from 1966 to 1971. This miniature version of one of Ford's most luxurious models from the 1960s is a beautiful example of Dinky's craftsmanship in the later years of production.
The real Ford Zodiac Mk IV, introduced in 1966, was the flagship of Ford UK, a spacious, stately vehicle with a striking American-inspired design, ample seating, and modern technology for its time. As the more luxurious sibling of the Zephyr, the Zodiac was known as a representative executive car and was often used as a police or government vehicle.
Dinky Toys beautifully translated this model into a scale model, complete with chrome bumpers, a detailed grille, working suspension, and four opening doors—a modern addition at the time. This miniature is finished in a metallic silver color, a color scheme typical of the 1960s, and reflects the robust and elegant lines of the original.
This particular example is in very good condition, with a neat paint finish, intact windows, correct wheels, and an undamaged underbody. The suspension is functional, and there is minimal wear, remarkable for a model of this age.
A high-quality reproduction box, carefully reproduced from the original Dinky Toys design, complete with matching colors, illustrations, and typography, is included. Ideal for protection, display, or adding to a display case collection.
An attractive and rare Dinky model from the late 1960s, perfect for the serious collector or enthusiast of classic British cars in miniature.
