Elegant and rare scale model of the Citroën DS “Le Dandy Coupé”, released by Corgi Toys between 1966 and 1969 under number 259. This exceptionally beautiful model is based on a luxurious coupé version of the legendary Citroën DS, designed by the French coachbuilder Henri Chapron. The "Le Dandy" was a stylish and exclusive version of the DS, specially built in small numbers for a select audience.
Corgi's miniature version managed to translate the graceful lines of the original perfectly into a beautifully designed scale model. With its streamlined bodywork, metallic paint, detailed interior, and luxurious appearance, this model is still a favorite among lovers of classic French cars and high-quality die-cast models.
This edition is in very nice condition, with original paint, clear windows and working suspension. What makes this example extra special is the presence of the original Corgi box, which is still in good condition, a rarity for models from this period.
A very special collector’s item that reflects the craftsmanship of both Citroën and Corgi. This Corgi 259 “Le Dandy” is not only a tribute to French automotive design, but also a wonderful piece of toy history from the golden age of British model car production.
